Orylan is one of the most tattooed women in the UK — and when she reveals what she looked like before her transformation, most people can’t believe it’s even the same person.
First tattoo when she was 14
With over 143,000 followers on Instagram, Orylan has built a massive following thanks to her bold and unconventional look.
Her body transformation journey began at just 14 years old, and now at 26, she’s covered nearly her entire body in tattoos.
But it doesn’t stop there.
The tattoo enthusiast has taken her body modifications to extreme levels, including tattooing the whites of her eyes and splitting her tongue to resemble a snake.
While many are fascinated by her dramatic appearance and unique style, Orylan admits she receives plenty of hate online as well.
Still, she’s unapologetically herself — and her viral before-and-after photos continue to leave people stunned.
“Most people will say I should have never changed myself but beauty is subjective and I believe the way I look now is the beauty I’ve always wanted to achieve,” Orylan told NeedToKnow and added:
“I think I can be beautiful in both ways but I am much more myself in the skin I am in today. My most extreme modifications are my tongue split my tattooed eyes and my implant in my hand.
”I don’t have a goal of looking like anything in particular. I go day by day, seeing if I want to change or modify something on my body. For example, I’d possibly get more face tattoos and I’d possibly tattoo my tongue.”
Tasting two different foods at the same time
Having a split tongue — almost like a snake —comes with some unexpected perks, according to Orylan. She’s even claimed that it allows her to taste two different foods at the same time, all thanks to the unique body mod.
Orylan decided to test it out by trying Coke and Sprite at the same time. She said the flavor combination was confusing and unlike anything she’d experienced before. The tongue-splitting procedure cost her around $700 and involved numbing the area with lidocaine, slicing it down the middle, and stitching up both sides separately.
The influencer, who embraces her unique appearance on Instagram, refuses to let the negativity get to her. Instead, she keeps confidently posting photos of herself on social media, showing off her look with pride.
“When some people see my eyes, they stare and point and say nothing, others give me ugly looks, and some will straight up get in my face and say they hate it,” she shared.
Many people say Orylan looks like a demon — and most are completely shocked when they see what she looked like before her transformation.
“The craziest reactions are from people online hiding behind a screen. They love to say, ‘you look like a demon’ or ‘you were so much prettier before,’ or ‘you must not have had a good childhood’.”
Now, Orylan has a message for anyone out there thinking about changing their appearance with tattoos or other body modifications.
”The only advice I can really give to anyone wanting to modify or tattoo themselves is: do it out of love, do it out of the fact that it will make you happy. We should only do things that bring us joy, for me that’s what modifying myself does, so I want that for others if that’s what they chose, nothing but love and happiness.”
